FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

The questions worth answering before you buy, including the ones with awkward answers.

The card

  • Does the other person need an app?

No. Tapping opens a web page in whatever browser their phone already uses. Neither of you installs anything.

  • What if their phone has no NFC, or it is switched off?

The same link is printed on the back of the card and encoded in a QR you can show from your phone. NFC is the fastest route, not the only one.

  • Does it work with iPhone?

Yes. Every iPhone from the XS onward reads NFC tags from the lock screen with no setup. Older models can use the QR or the printed link.

  • Can I change what it opens after it is printed?

Yes, and this is the point of the design. The tag holds a random code, not your name. Your username, links and profile mode are all resolved when someone taps, so you can change any of them without touching the card.

  • I lost my card.

Report it and it stops resolving straight away — anyone who finds it gets a page saying so rather than your details. We issue a replacement that carries your profile across.

Service and billing

  • What am I actually paying for?

The card, and a period of service that keeps your profile resolving. They are tracked separately on purpose.

  • What happens when my service lapses?

The profile stops opening and a tap explains that the service needs renewing. The card is still yours and still works the moment you renew. We do not post you a new one to restart a plan.

  • Do you take Naira?

Yes, through Paystack. Delivery across Nigeria is quoted at checkout.

  • Can I get a refund?

Before a card goes into production, yes. After it has been personalised and printed we cannot resell it, so refunds at that point are handled case by case — talk to us.

Privacy

  • What do you record when someone taps my card?

A view, and if they act, a click or a contact save. Device class, referrer origin and coarse country. No raw IP address and no precise location, ever.

  • Can you tell me who visited?

No, and that is deliberate. Visitors are counted through a salted hash that rotates every day, so it supports counting without becoming a way to follow a person over time. The only way you learn who someone is, is if they choose to share their details.

  • Do you honour Do Not Track?

Yes, when you leave that setting on. If a browser sends DNT or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded for that visit.

  • Can I turn analytics off completely?

Yes, in Settings. You can also set how long data is kept, from 30 days to three years, after which it is deleted permanently.

  • Someone asked me to delete their details.

Open the lead and delete it. That is a hard delete, not a hidden flag.

Teams

  • Someone left. What happens to their card?

Disable them in the business dashboard. Every card they hold stops resolving on the next tap, and the membership row, tap history and audit trail all stay so the record survives. You can then reassign the card to whoever takes over.

  • Do employees keep their personal profile?

Yes. The organisation revokes what the organisation issued. Their own MARK account is untouched.

Still unsure?

Ask us directly. If MARK is not right for what you need, we would rather tell you before you order than after.
